Grand River Health Hospital District is a Colorado Special District operating under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Colorado. Medical care and other health care at any facility operated by Grand River Health Hospital District may be provided by individuals who are considered public employees by the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act.

Grand River Health Hospital District is subject to the provisions of the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, Article 10 of Title 24, C.R.S., which limits the amount of damages recoverable from public employees and entities, requires formal notice of claim, places a 180 day time limit on the period for filing such a notice of claim, and limits the amount of damages recoverable from the public entity or public employees.
